Our junior school consists of students in P - 2 (early phase). Students in the early phase engage with the Early Years Curriculum Guidelines using the five contexts for learning, including: play; real-life situations; investigations; routines and transitions as well as focused learning and teaching. In the early phase there is an important focus on access and wellbeing and as such, parent's are invited to contribute to their child's goals through the individual learning plan (ILP) process and students may be eligible for therapy services if required. To further support our students' learning explicit teaching in a range of programs occurs:
- English programs including Reading Our Way, Jolly Phonics and apps on the iPad
- Mathematics programs and apps on the iPad
- Individual communication programs such as Auslan and Choiceboard Creator
- Intensive interaction
- Social skills programs
- FIELA curriculum
- Grooming and hygiene programs
- Various fine and gross motor activities
- Sensory and tactile learning
- Art and music programs offered by specialist teachers
