The Maryborough Special School Chaplaincy was introduced under the Federal Government’s National School Chaplaincy & Student Welfare Program (NSCSWP). The role of the school chaplain is to assist in fostering the social and spiritual development of members of the school community within a supportive environment. Whilst providing an additional dimension to the school’s support of students, the chaplain also holds a unique position within the school and wider school community through extending care and support to staff and parents as well as to students. Although pastoral care and education occupy most of the chaplain’s time, he is also actively involved in the general life of the school. Our school chaplain is Troy Brady and he can be contacted on the school number every Tuesday. Troy is available for, and offers confidential pastoral care to, all members of the school community. To find out more about the NSCSWP you can read the NSCSWP guidelines 2013(PDF, 606kb).
